Lineage is an installation based on the concept of capturing a fleeting stage of mortality and memorializing it. The work emerges from the vestiges of the knowledge tree project (Lost in Transference) and is inspired by the passage of time and principles of dendrochronology. Combining natural materials with contemporary techniques Lineage seeks to communicate and celebrate an enduring heritage that we might pause to appreciate it. Our existence is often referred to as a lifeline, beginning with our conception and in due course our fragile mortality is realized. It is also a cycle ever renewing itself in times continuum, yet however brief our life leaves its impression.
